Glacier National Park Sept 2021

Mike and I went to Glacier National Park in September 2021 -neither of us had ever been to Montana before. This was actually one trip that was more on Mike's bucket list than mine, but I'm happy to travel anywhere!

You might remember our parents were supposed to be joining us on this one, but due to circumstances beyond our control it was just us that made the journey. 

We didn't have a whole lot planned out for this trip. We knew we were renting a car and driving the Going to the Sun Road, but that was about the extent of it. 

It actually worked out pretty well since there are lots of trails and things to do along the Going to the Sun Road. We did a lot of driving, hiking, and even took a boat tour at Lake McDonald.

We stayed outside of the park and were closest to the west entrance. 

The weather was iffy during our time there, but what can you do?! We made the most of it and did get some sun finally. (the day we were leaving) A good majority of the trip was rain and haze so that was unfortunate. We did, however, find a good spot to eat at that was an almost daily occurrence: The Backroom /Nite Owl restaurant.

ACE Adventure Park

 Wow, I'm super slackin'... This trip took place in September of 2020 and I'm just now posting about it! 
Even though it was a small trip I was reminiscing about it the other day and wanting to go back sometime.

I had wanted to go to ACE Adventure Resort  for more than 10 years.  The year of the pandemic (2020) seemed like the perfect time to do a mini trip within the U.S. and this was it!

We did mountain biking for the first time:
I was scared for my life on multiple occasions.
I fell getting off my bike and rolled down a hill. I tried to grab a tree to catch my fall, but that didn’t work out very well. My leg, hip, and thigh were scraped up and bruised pretty good, but other than that we survived!

White Water Rafting:
This was just okay... I wasn't too impressed with the rafting, but it was still an adventure. 

ATV:
(This was probably my favorite!!) My first time driving an ATV and I was terrified -especially after my fall earlier in the day... but it was SO much fun!! 

And played around at the water park:

This was also so much fun! I've never been on inflatable obstacles in the water. It's actually really challenging to pull yourself up onto the inflatables. Who would have guessed?!  

ACE has sooooo many activities - there were some that we hadn't tried that I would like to go back and do such as the mud obstacle, rappelling, stand up paddleboard, and aerial adventure park. I would definitely do ATV and the water park again.
